Aida is a modern rock musical in two acts based on Giuseppe Verdi’s Italian-language opera by the same name. The story centers around a love triangle that transcends all time. Aida, an Ethiopian princess, is captured and brought into slavery in Egypt. A military commander, Radames, struggles to choose between his love for her and his loyalty to the Pharaoh. To complicate the story further, Radames is loved by the Pharaoh's daughter Amneris, although he does not return her feelings. The Musical beginm and ends in the Egyptian wing of a modern museum, but the bulk of the show is in ancient Egypt with everything from modern rock, soul, and even Reggae.
