Claudia and I wanted to root the design in layers. We started the process talking about trees and roots, and moved to a more classical idea. Every time we spoke the design became clearer and cleaner. Simple to the viewer with layers of symbolism  behind it. We chose to use a grey base in contrast to the flesh mesh to show form and shape.
