The Body Snatchers concerns a small-town doctor who discovers that the people around him are being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates. The seeds replace sleeping people with perfect physical duplicates grown from plantlike pods, while their human victims turn to dust.

As the play progresses and the townspeople transform into their pod duplicates they add sun-glasses and wear the same look just in gray scale. In contrast, Miles and Becky, the two main characters, always wear a stark palette of black and white.
